There’s a new Wine Scout riding with us—Matt Simon.
Raised among the early vines of Napa Valley, Matt grew up where the dust was still settling and the cellars were just beginning to tell their stories. While other kids played ball, he played between barrels—learning early that wine isn’t just a drink, it’s a living history.
With a degree in Anthropology and Archaeology, Matt’s lens on wine runs deep. He’s studied the role wine played in ancient rituals, trade routes, and the rhythms of daily life. To him, every bottle is a time capsule—one that speaks of place, people, and purpose.
“Today, as a Wine Scout, I bring together my love of culture, storytelling, and connection to help clients discover wines that resonate on a deeper level. Whether it’s an old-world classic or a new-world gem, I’m here to help you find wines that speak to who you are and what you love.”

Meet Marty! As our Director of Operations, Marty eats, sleeps, and breathes wine shipping—making sure your orders arrive safely and on time. 🍷🚛
He’s been at Wine Scout nearly six years, and brings 19+ years of experience in transportation and fulfillment operations.
For Marty, the most gratifying part of the job is taking care of our customers—handling each order with care and precision.
When he’s not keeping your wine safe, you can find him hitting the trails on his mountain bike, snowboarding, backpacking, or training in mixed martial arts. Basically, if it’s outdoors and adrenaline-packed, Marty’s in!
