Our friend Rich helped start the Air Force’s Kessel Run Experimentation Lab, transforming how the military develops and delivers software. He spent eight years on active duty in the Air Force, executing missions around the world and leading teams from five to fifty-five people cultivating an innovation-focused mindset in each of the organizations he’s been a part of. In his free time, Richard loves good food, exercise, and the occasional trivia night. He’s also deeply dedicated to our community in ways you may not expect.
Napa has grown and evolved enormously over the years, and that doesn’t happen on its own. It takes community-focused people working alongside our elected leaders to help shape what the city can become.
Every third Thursday, Rich hosts a community group where people gather to discuss upcoming city projects—road work, parking, housing, and more. He’s created a space for discourse that is respectful, informative, and genuinely productive. It allows people to see the many sides of what Napa is today, and what it could become in the future.
Rich helps facilitate those conversations in an effort to improve the place we all call home. For that, we celebrate him and the community he’s helped cultivate at Contimo.

“Y’all” is one of our favorite words. It’s inclusive, warm, and kind. It also happens to be tattooed on our friend Joe’s leg.
That tattoo started our very first conversation and led us to getting to know one of our favorite regulars. Joe is a music therapist, cyclist, keys aficionado, DJ, fan of trains, and all-around good dude. He’s all about the bean salad and loves a NoLa.
Joe has a way of making you feel like exactly the person you’re meant to be. He’s generous, kind, and a real cutie pie.
Come by for one of his DJ sets sometime, or give him a wave if you see him pedaling around town.
