If there is one thing the summer of '25 will be remembered for on Nantucket, it is for the incredibly beautiful summer weather. The sun has shone brightly with blue skies and gentle ocean breezes for weeks now with no sign in the forecast of anything different. Beach goers and surfers have struck gold this summer and the fall looks to be more of the same.
The beach takes on a different look in September as the late afternoon rays add a copper colored hue to the sand as the sun disappears . The spray from the surf curls back over the waves, reflecting on the water even after it sets on the horizon. As mother ocean begins the transition to cooler temps, all of us realize time is short before the chill northeasterlies arrive. All of us are trying to get out there as much as we can while the warm waters and sunny skies are still here. Come join us at the Barnacle for the final push towards fall. We can beach comb and walk the shoreline as migrating sea birds get ready for their fall trek to warmer climes. See you on the south shore.

The 2023 season is off to a great start here at The Barnacle Inn. We are thrilled to have our doors open again! Nantucket has been beautiful, we enjoyed the sunset pictured below Steps Beach. "Juneuary" weather made an appearance this past weekend with colder temps, but the sun will be back this week!
There are many events going on this summer, The Nantucket Book Festival is always a favorite. There is also the Sustainable Nantucket Farmers and Artisan Market happening every Saturday morning, with local artwork and yummy foods. There is sure to be fun had all summer.

As the Hunter's moon rises over the Barnacle Inn, we say goodbye to another epic and wonderful summer season. The front of the inn still looks great and has a midsummer look after an amazingly warm and sunny fall. The flowering plants are still in full color and our roses are blooming again as well.
It's hard to close up with the place looking so pretty. We'd love to keep going however it's just not to be. We'll be back in April for another run and here's hoping for a healthy and happy winter for all. Huge thanks to the crew, we couldn't have done it without you. To all the friends we made this summer, let's do it again. Peace, out.

Through all the hustle and bustle of the summer season, it is quite nice to have a peaceful walk on Dionis Beach. We have had a wonderful time with our friends and family this summer at The Barnacle. It is hard to believe it is already mid July, but there is still so much time to enjoy the beauty of Nantucket, and for that we are grateful.
