Meet Vessy Natcheva!

She has lived 30 miles out to sea for 24 years and speaks four languages; Bulgarian, Russian, Spanish and English. She has been teaching young multilingual students at NES since 1998. Vessy has helped deliver information and translation to the Bulgarian community on Nantucket for over 20 years. In addition, she has been involved in many non profit organizations over the years. Most recently volunteering for Swim Across America for the past 7 years. (All the monies raised stay on Nantucket to benefit cancer patients)

Meet Cecilia Gutierrez!

Cecilia has lived 30 miles out to sea for 18 years. She speaks two languages, Spanish and English. She is a member of the Interfaith Council, Religious Ed Coordinator for the Spanish Speaking community at St Mary's, etc.

Action is the foundational key to all success.

Meet Devin Durand!

He has resided 30 miles out to sea for 15 years and speaks 3 languages, Spanish, Portuguese and English. Devin teaches ESL, coaches multiple sports, and coordinate clubs/community service programs at Nantucket High School. He has also worked for many years on the Just Do It Too sport fishing charter boat helping families enjoy their vacations and learn about the water.

Meet Joseline Ramirez! She has lived 30 miles out to sea for her entire life and speaks two languages, Spanish and English. She is also learning French! Joseline grew up in this community, went off to college then came back to help, live, and work in her home town. She worked as bilingual support specialist for NPS. She is now a kindergarten TA working towards getting my teaching license!

Meet Sarah Kirk (Erichsen)!

She has lived 30 miles out to sea for 30 years and speaks two languages, Spanish and English. Sarah loves welcoming families new to the Nantucket. As Nantucket Public Schools Register she provides information when children first enter school and helps connect families with resources, especially relating to food insecurity.

Meet Maryia Rubina!

She has lived 30 miles out to sea for 14 years and speaks 5 Languages, English, Italian, Russian, Belarusian, and basic Spanish. Maryia has been tutoring developing multilinguals on Nantucket since she first arrived in 2008. Many of her students have gone on to become American citizens. Maryia loves living on the magic island of Nantucket.
