Murphy For Nantucket

I’ve been accepted and plan to attend Massachusetts School of Law in Andover, MA starting mid-August. As such, I’ll be resigning from the Select Board. My last in person meeting will be 8/17/22 and from there I will attend remotely and when possible thru Nov 2, 2022 . On Nov 8, 2022 the Town will hold a special election during the state election to fill my seat. At the 7/13/22 Select Board meeting details for the election will be discussed.

Becoming a lawyer has always been an aspiration of mine and I now have the time and resources to dedicate to it. I’m beyond excited for this new adventure.

I want to thank the community for your support in electing me to serve on the Board in June 2020. It has been an honor to serve, especially during the unprecedented pandemic with many new challenges facing the community.

I grew up on Nantucket and from a young age have given my time and energy to make Nantucket a better, healthier place for all of us. My motivations for service have been simple - I want to give back to the community that has given me and my family so much.

If you’ve ever been interested in being on the Select Board, this may be a wonderful time to give it a try.

Annual Town Election is ‪on Tuesday, June 16, 2020‬. Polls will be open ‪from 7 am to 8 pm‬ and the polls will be set up in the High School Gymnasium to enable better social distancing. Remember to wear a 😷 !

Last day to register to vote is ‪this Friday, June 5 at 4 pm‬.
