Calvin Ridge

Southern at Heart (Southern Grit Version) is officially out!

This one takes the heart of the original and adds a grittier, bass-heavy backroad feel. It’s still about Southern pride, faith, family, country roots, and that feeling you carry deep down — but this version brings a little more edge.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Calvin Ridge — Southern at Heart (Southern Grit Version)

Today, the music world lost one of its greatest.

Dolly Parton was more than a country music legend. She was a songwriter’s songwriter, an artist who stayed true to who she was, and proof that humble beginnings do not determine how far a dream can take you.

Over the course of her remarkable career, Dolly wrote more than 3,000 songs. Think about that—more than 3,000 stories, ideas, emotions, and pieces of herself put into words and music.

As a songwriter and producer, I have tremendous respect for someone who could turn real life, pain, love, struggle, faith, and hope into music that connected with generations of people.

But Dolly’s legacy went far beyond music. She never forgot where she came from, and she used her success to give back, especially through literacy, education, and helping families and communities in need.

We lost a fellow artist today, but the songs will remain.

Rest in peace, Dolly Rebecca Parton, 1946–2026.

Your voice, your words, your heart, and those thousands of songs will continue inspiring artists and songwriters for generations.

We will always love you. 🤍

Southern at Heart (Southern Grit Version) is coming 8-28-26.

🎶 Music Monday 🎶

Today's spotlight is Harmony in Unity.

This song holds a special place in my heart because it started with lyrics my dad wrote years ago. Being able to take his words and help bring them to life through music made this one of the most meaningful songs I've ever released.

Country music is about stories, memories, and the people who shape our lives. For me, Harmony in Unity is a reminder that the people we love continue to inspire us long after they're gone.

If you haven't heard it yet, I'd be honored if you'd take a listen.

My new single, “Rolling Down These Old Back Roads,” drops June 3, 2026. 🚌🎶

This song is part of my 5-song collection and tells a story from behind the wheel of a school bus — rolling down old back roads, picking up children one stop at a time, and carrying young dreams safely to school.

Some songs come from imagination. This one comes from real life, real roads, and real responsibility.

I’m proud to share this one with you.
