The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

February 7th - on this day in 1984, NASA astronaut Bruce McCandless II carried out the first ever untethered spacewalk.
Using the Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU), McCandless ventured out 98 m from Space Shuttle Challenger, which at the time was on orbit for the STS-41-B mission.
