World AIDS Day is an opportunity for every community and individual to honor the more than 32 million people who have died worldwide from AIDS-related illness. December 1 is a day for voices to unite by sharing experiences, remembering those lost, and standing together in the fight against HIV. World AIDS Day began in 1988.

T-Time: Myrtle Beach Transgender Support Group invites you to their Transgender Day of Remembrance Memorial, Sunday, November 16th, 5-8pm at Fresh Brewed Coffeehouse, 933 Broadway St, Myrtle Beach.

Join T-time members, family, friends and community allies this Sunday to honor those transgender and gender diverse persons killed in the previous 12 months. This event is part of the annual worldwide memorial the week of November 20th and we will have speakers, a time for sharing and a candlelight reading of the names killed by transphobic violence.

Supreme Court rejects long-shot effort to overturn same-sex marriage ruling The court turned away an appeal filed by Kim Davis, a former county clerk in Kentucky who was sued after refusing to issue a marriage license to a gay couple.

🌈 In Memory of Matthew Shepard 🕯️

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man whose life was tragically taken in 1998 because of hate. His story sparked a national movement. One that led to greater awareness, compassion, and progress toward equality for LGBTQ+ people.

Matthew’s legacy reminds us that our voices, our visibility, and our advocacy matter. 💜 His parents, through the Matthew Shepard Foundation, continue to inspire change and push for a world where everyone can live without fear of being who they are.

Let’s continue his fight by standing up against hate in all forms and spreading love through action, empathy, and education.

Myrtle Beach passed a hate crime ordinance last year. Here's why no charges have been filed. The Myrtle Beach Police Department hasn’t seen any cases rising to the level of a hate crime under the local ordinance passed in 2024, a lieutenant said.

We discussed at Grand Strand PRIDE 2025 on Equality Day what we could expect to see here in South Carolina should Marriage Equality be overturned by the Supreme Court. The movement to overturn Marriage Equality has indeed started.

Supreme Court formally asked to overturn landmark same-sex marriage ruling 10 years after the Supreme Court extended marriage rights to all same-sex couples, it will consider whether to take a case asking it to overturn the decision.
