'That cat was loved by thousands': A Myrtle Beach bar mourns White Socks, its mascot for 18 years For 18 years, a feral cat named White Socks lived in the dunes and spent many days delighting patrons at St. Clement's Beach Bar & Grill in Myrtle Beach.

We have a message below from Robert & Jill Powell, our owners:

It is with the heaviest of hearts we said goodbye to our beloved cat at St.
Clements White Socks today. Born and raised in the sand dunes, she was a true beach cat! In her 18years she was loved by thousands! and in return she loved most in return except the ones who pulled her tail and tried to pick her up. ha She will live forever in our hearts and memories with her will never be forgotten. Special thanks to EVERYONE that loved and cared for her. - Robert
