*Devotions in December*

The holiday season is upon us! Thanksgiving was last week and Christmas is only 20 days away. This special time of year can be full of wonderful gifts: time with family, time to rest, and cherished meals around the table... but sometimes it can be hard to focus on those gifts. Sometimes we just feel rushed, tired, and stressed out.

If you find this time of year to be stressful or difficult to manage, try some of these 5 steps to help reduce the stress and navigate each moment with intentionality:

1. Pause and breathe--pause and take a deep breath to re-center your thoughts
2. Take a break--plan time for breaks and self-care in the midst of your day
3. Move your body--incorporate activity into your day (like taking a walk or stretching)
4. Do something you enjoy--make sure you spend time doing something that you enjoy so that your entire day isn't focused externally
5. Talk to someone--talk to a trusted friend or coach

When we incorporate strategies to help ourselves de-stress, in the midst of everything that we have going on - we allow ourselves the time and space to be intentional in our relationships and in all the things we do.

Jeremiah 29:11 NLT says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

God has great plans for your life! Plans for your good and to give you a future and a hope. Don't let your own limited beliefs or fear stop you from stepping into the fullness of all that God has for you.

A masterpiece is someone's greatest work of art. We are God's greatest work of art and He created us anew, in Jesus Christ, so that we can fulfill the calling that He gave each and every one of us. Today, reflect on the truth that you are God's masterpiece... right now... exactly as you are.
