Jo, Sue, Jenna, and Jim, put in the time, earn their results, and prove that long-term change comes from long-term effort.

Did you know that less than 1% of the male population at 50+ years old can lift 90lb dumbbells for the bench press?
And our guy Jeremy just hit this impressive personal record!
This comes primarily due to the fact that most men in their 50s donât regularly strength train. This milestone requires a high level of shoulder stability and grip strength to safely and effectively manage getting into position and then properly executing the movement.
Also, strength and muscle mass naturally decline after age 45, with the rate accelerating after 50. Making this milestone that much more impressive.
Youâre a stud, Jeremy! Pumped to see your continued progress. đȘđœ

Most people think they need to get in shape before they join a gym.
Thatâs exactly why they never start.
You donât need to already be fit. You donât need to know every exercise. You donât need to have it all figured out.
You just need to show up.
At EVB, we meet you where you are. We give you a real plan, teach you what you need to know, and help you build from there, at your pace.
Thatâs what we do.
If this is the year you stop waiting, message us START and weâll book your free Game Plan Session.
Weâll take it from there.
Why stand on a band while doing pull-ups?
The reason that we have clients do this is because it lets them build strength throughout the full pull-up motion with some assist.
As their strength increases, we decrease the thickness of the band until theyâre able to do full pull-ups with no assist.
If you donât have access to a pull-up assist machine, this is a great alternative!

Most people press standing up. Try it from here instead.
When both knees are down, you canât use your legs to cheat the weight up. Your shoulders have to do the actual work.
And because youâre kneeling tall with a bar in your hands, your core is bracing the entire time just to keep you stable.
The result is stronger shoulders, a more engaged core, and cleaner form than youâll get standing up.
Thatâs why we use this movement in our programming.

Our guy Brandon has lost 6 pounds of body fat and gained 2 pounds of muscle mass in just 5 weeks!
The best part? Heâs doing it by making subtle lifestyle changes that he can manage around his crazy work schedule and busy family life.
Thatâs the game. Making small adjustments in your daily life that allow you to still live your normal life while making progress towards your health and fitness goals.
Proud of you Brandon! Letâs keep going đȘđœ

Real talk. Protein powder isnât just for bodybuilders.
We hear that one a lot. And honestly, we get it. Thatâs what most people picture from supplements as a whole.
But the people who need it most? Busy parents. Working professionals. People who are trying to do everything and still find time to take care of themselves.
You skip lunch. Youâre running from meeting to meeting. You get home and you still have dinner to make and kids to take care of. Getting enough protein in your diet is the last thing on your mind.
Thatâs exactly where protein powder helps. Itâs not a magic fix. Itâs just a simple, fast way to make sure your body has what it needs to recover, build muscle, and keep your energy up.
We carry 1st Phorm here at EVB. Swing by and weâll point you in the right direction.

Why do we put strength training first during our workouts?
1) Hitting heavy weights first ensures you get maximum power output and muscular stimulation.
2) Starting fresh prevents fatigue-induced injuries that can occur when doing complex lifts at the end of a class.
3) Emptying the glycogen âtankâ via weightlifting
first forces your body to transition into fat oxidation much faster once you step onto the cardio equipment.
Unless your goal is primarily endurance based, weâre big fans of starting your workouts with the strength training portion and then transitioning into the cardio position afterwards.
Hopefully this is helpful!
