After 50+ years as a State Farm agent, I am announcing my retirement effective 12/31/2025. What an enjoyable ride it has been since opening our agency on July 1, 1975. I began in a small block building at 212 N. Nashville Ave. in Sheffield with Imogene Welborn as my only team member. I recall one of my training sessions in Birmingham back in 1975 where one of the speakers said these words, "Every day with State Farm is a holiday". This was indelibly etched in my mind. My career has been beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Many of you have been our policyholders since those early days and have never wavered in your loyalty. For those many, many years, I cannot say, "THANK YOU!" enough for your loyalty because you are the backbone of this agency.
I have been blessed with many wonderful team members over the years. These men and women were and are of the highest character and integrity and many of them have become my extended family.
Looking back at all these years, I can see God's handprint though all these years, and His grace and mercies have prevailed throughout. It is with mixed emotions that I make this announcement but I do look forward to the next season of my life and what His plan for me will be.
