Meet Butters 💛

At approximately 8 years old and 12 pounds, Butters is proof that personality can absolutely outweigh size.

Before we discuss anything else, let's address the ears.

One stands up. One flops over.

We don't know why. The ear doesn't know why. Butters doesn't know why. We've decided not to ask questions because it's possibly the cutest thing we've ever seen.

Butters is a happy little guy who loves kids, gets along great with cats, and enjoys the company of dogs both big and small. He's crate trained, affectionate, playful, and always ready to see what everyone else is doing. If there's fun to be had, Butters would like to be included.

He's also got just enough mischief to keep life interesting. Like many small dogs, Butters occasionally believes that rules are open to interpretation and may require a brief discussion before he agrees to cooperate. The good news is that he's smart, eager to learn, and responds beautifully to patience and consistency.

Butters came to us after losing his home through no fault of his own. Despite that, he's remained a social, loving little dog who genuinely enjoys both people and other animals. His foster family quickly discovered that beneath those adorable ears is a sweet companion who simply wants to be loved and included.

🚨 They have nowhere to go. 🚨

We're asking the Misfit Ranch community to work a little magic for two very special dogs who desperately need a foster or adopter NOW.

Scout and Finch are a bonded pair with Rover's Return Dog Rescue. They were found together on a dirt road, trying to survive with no food, no water, and no one but each other. Scout depends on Finch for emotional support, and after everything they've endured, they need to stay together.

They've spent the last year safe and loved in a foster home. Their foster mom absolutely adores them, but she's moving to Florida and can't take them with her. Through no fault of their own, they are now out of time and have nowhere to go.

These aren't Misfit Ranch dogs, but we're doing everything we can to help because no dog deserves to lose the only home they've known. Let's see if a little Misfit magic can change Scout and Finch's story. ❤️

We're especially grateful to our amazing hosts at Bare Knuckle Brewing for welcoming us once again. It really is one of our favorite places to gather. The food is fantastic, the beer is cold, and getting to spend time with all of you makes it even better.

Reginald is missing.

Someone opened the gate at his foster home while he was in the backyard, and he got out. He went missing near the intersection of Nicholas Road and Butterfield Stage Road in Temecula, and we need your help to bring him home.

Reginald is microchipped and was wearing a collar with a Misfit Ranch ID tag when he went missing.

Please DO NOT go out on foot looking for him. Chasing him or trying to approach him will scare him and drive him farther away, making it much harder to get him safely back home.

What we need are sightings only. If you see Reginald, do not call out to him, chase him, or follow him. Instead, please immediately call or text the number on the flyer with his location, the time you saw him, and the direction he was traveling.

Some dreams don't end when you grow up.

When we were kids, we wished we could walk into a shelter and take home the dogs that had been waiting the longest. Now, we get to do exactly that.

Meet our two newest Misfits: Yoda (female) and Spot (male)...although not for long. 😉 Those names are about to change.

These two were among the longest residents at our local shelter, and we're so grateful for the incredible partnership we have with the shelter staff. They work tirelessly to help as many dogs as possible find their way out, and we're honored to play a small part in that mission.

The truth is, dogs often spend months in shelters not because there's anything wrong with them, but because there are simply more dogs than homes. Yoda and Spot are perfect examples. They are incredibly sweet, affectionate, and so deserving of a fresh start.

Now we need your help!

Drop your name suggestions in the comments for our handsome black-and-white boy and our beautiful tan girl. We have to get their files created tomorrow, so we'll be choosing their new names soon.

For 10 years, Cooper had a family.

Then his owner became terminally ill, and Cooper lost the only life he'd ever known.

When he landed at the shelter, we knew a senior Chihuahua who had just lost everything deserved a second chance. We pulled him, found what we thought was the perfect home, and hoped his story had its happy ending.

But six months later, Cooper came back.

The good news? Cooper is safe. He's back with the foster family who loves him, and he's reminding us every day what a special little dog he is.

Like many senior Chihuahuas, Cooper doesn't appreciate strangers swooping in to pick him up and fuss over him before he's ready. But once you're in his circle? You're in. He's affectionate, loyal, ridiculously soft, endlessly snuggly, and happiest curled up next to his person.

Cooper isn't looking for perfection. He's looking for someone who understands that trust is earned, that senior dogs are treasures, and that the best relationships are often the ones worth taking a little time to build.

This sweet boy has loved people his entire life. We think it's time someone loved him back with the same devotion.
