🦓🦓 Wahoo stripes. Gulf-bound.🦓🦓

The final unveiling of this Wahoo-themed Phenix Rods Megalodon 8’8” Deckhand Rod, headed to Texas and getting ready for some serious Gulf action. 🎣🔥

This one is built for throwing tuna poppers, surface irons, and other heavy-duty surface presentations around the rigs.

The Fuji MC guides came out incredibly clean, and they’re built to handle what this rod is going to be put through. The Tiger Wrap really comes alive once everything is finished, and I couldn’t be happier with how those wahoo-inspired stripes turned out.

Most importantly, this build is sitting on a stronger Phenix blank specifically suited for this application. This rod was built to fish hard.

As always, it’s getting paired with a Duran’s Fishing Products Deckhand Clamp to finish off the setup.

Within the week, this one will be hitting the Gulf. Can’t wait to see what ends up on the other end of it! 🤘🎣

Built by hand. Built to fish. Built for the Lowcountry.

A couple of catches from today, preserved in a pretty cool way. 🎣🎨

These are the finished Gyotaku prints from a 5.3-pound sheepshead and a 3.5-pound Spanish mackerel measuring 22 inches at the fork.

Both fish were caught on ultra-light tackle, and now their shapes, details, and memories from the day have been preserved as artwork.

There’s something special about being able to take a great day on the water and turn it into something you can hang on the wall and keep for years.

A little fishing between building rods turned into some pretty awesome artwork.

Catch it. Preserve it. Remember it.

Running a small business will teach you a lot about people.

You’ll have friends who genuinely support you — sharing your work, recommending you, celebrating your wins, sending customers your way, and simply reminding you to keep going. Those people mean more than they probably realize. ❤️

And then there will be people who talk about what you’re building, criticize from the sidelines, or have something negative to say without ever actually supporting it.

That’s okay.

Small businesses aren’t built by worrying about who’s talking. They’re built by continuing to show up, putting out quality work, treating people right, and staying focused on the people who believe in what you’re doing.

To everyone who has shared a post, bought something, sent a customer my way, left a comment, recommended Carolina Deckhands, or simply said “Keep going” — thank you. It genuinely makes a difference.

And to every small business owner out there: keep going. Keep supporting your friends. Keep supporting local businesses. You never know how much a simple share, purchase, recommendation, or encouraging word can mean to someone building something from the ground up.

Keep building, Keep DRIVING, and Let the work speak for itself. 🎣

OLD SCHOOL GLASS. BUILT TO FISH. 🎣🔥

Built for my buddy Ethan — this custom old-school Lamiglas glass build was made to pair perfectly with his custom powder-coated Penn 704 Spinfisher.

Old-school all-welded hoop guides • Packed hoop guides • Custom cork grip • Custom chevrons

This one is going to see plenty of work cobia fishing and live-lining, so it needed to look good AND be ready to put some serious pressure on a fish.

Classic glass. Classic Penn. Custom Carolina Deckhands build.

Built by hand. Built for the Lowcountry.

🔥 🦓🦓This one is going to be ALL WAHOO! 🦓🦓🦓🔥

Starting the cork grip on this Phoenix Megalodon Tuna Popping Rod, and this build is about to get the full Carolina Deckhands wahoo treatment. 🏴‍☠️🎣

This is just the beginning — every detail of this rod is going to be built around one of the fastest, meanest fish in the ocean. 💨💙

Big fish. Custom craftsmanship. One-of-a-kind build.

Stay tuned… this wahoo rod is going to be something special.

Some builds just have a different kind of feel to them. 🎶

This 9’ 15–30lb custom rod was built for Mason Simpson at Mountain To Surf, and this one came together exactly how I wanted it.

Full custom cork grips, full dragon scale, barber pole work, and that faded, crazy wrap that changes completely depending on how the light hits it.

Dreams by Fleetwood Mac because honestly… the song sets the mood perfectly because this rod is in everyone’s dreams. 🌊🎸

Every Carolina Deckhands custom is built one at a time, by hand, with no two builds ever being exactly alike.

Follow Carolina Deckhands and watch what comes off the bench next. 🎣
