Today we stand with other health systems across the country to observe the 10th annual Friday, an effort to raise awareness about the impact of violence in the workplace and within the communities we serve.
Like hospitals and health systems across the nation, Tidelands Health continues working toward partnerships, innovations and creative thinking to foster peace and make a safer health care environment for our community.

At Tidelands Health, we are committed to investing in our region's health care workforce to help meet the needs of our area's rapidly growing population. We were proud to recently award nearly $30,000 in scholarships to nine current and aspiring health care professionals. The scholarships, part of the McRoy and Jo Skipper Initiative for Learning and Teaching at Tidelands Health, are funded through donations to Tidelands Health.
Congratulations to each of our scholarship winners, who excelled in a competitive application process that included submitting an essay detailing their passion for health care and their career goals.

It's easy to ignore your body when your favorite song comes on, but heat exhaustion doesn't wait for a good time. 🌡️🥵 Watch for nausea, lightheadedness, fatigue, muscle cramps and dizziness, and take breaks to cool down between sets. Stick to lightweight fabrics like cotton, linen, rayon or chambray and skip anything synthetic that traps heat.

Four days of festival food is a marathon, not a sprint. 🥙🥬 Try to get protein in at meals and snacks and eat every couple of hours so you're not running on empty when your favorite artist hits the stage. Just remember, CCMF doesn't allow outside food or drinks.

The Myrtle Beach summer UV index regularly hits 10 or higher, and your skin can burn in as little as 15 minutes. 😎☀️ Apply SPF 30 or higher 30 minutes before you head in, reapply every two hours and take shade breaks when you can. Good news: CCMF allows non-aerosol sunscreen through the gates.

June in Myrtle Beach is no joke. Between the heat, the sun and a cold drink in your hand, dehydration can sneak up on you fast. Pack sugar-free electrolyte packets and a reusable water bottle you can refill. Your body will thank you by the final set.
