SALTWATER ANGLERS: New regulations will soon take effect for flounder in South Carolina. 🐟

Beginning July 1, anglers may harvest five flounder per person per day (10 per boat per day) with a minimum size limit of 16 inches. These regulations apply to recreational and commercial anglers alike. 🎣

Since 2019, many of you have been following the progress of research showing that the Southeast's southern flounder are at historically low levels -- and sharing your own observations, concerns and visions for the future of the fishery. The legislature responded by passing a suite of changes this session that will help this beloved fish begin to recover. 🙌
