What a great day celebrating Homecoming at St James! Each class did an impressive job decorating their HOCO floats. Juniors were the winning class followed by Freshmen in 2nd, Seniors in 3rd, and Sophomores in 4th place.

Congratulations to our 2026 Homecoming Court and to Senior Prince and Princess Camden Russell and Maliyah Wojcik and Homecoming King and Queen Aiden Charlette and Emory Rabon!

The Fall eSports season started this week, and the team got off to a great start!

Splatoon 3 (Tuesday) - Defeated Bow High School 3-0
Super Smash Brothers (Wednesday) - Grey Team Defeated Summerville High School 3-0
Blue Team Defeated Boiling Springs High School 3-1
Black Team rescheduled due to tech difficulties with our opponent
Marion Kart (Thursday) - Defeated May River High School 143-91 and 155-79

The Sharks MVB teams each handled the Knights from West Florence last night in straight sets.

JV led by Kyan Garris at setter and Anthony Giron with a great service match win 2-0.

The Varsity team beat the Knights 3-0 improving the 8-0 in region play.

These Sharks are not only number 1 in region play, but 8th overall in 4-A. 16th overall in all levels of SCHSL MVB.

Looking forward to our toughest test yet in Lake Wylie.

Fall is in the air. Temperatures are dropping and so are the Sharks' times. "The Fastest Fins on Two Feet" had a great night as everyone ran their personal best for the season. The Boys placed first while the Girls place a close second in a meet featuring North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, and Loris.

Mackenzie Johnston (19:20) finished 1st in the girls' race by over a minute. Maryn Schubiger (20:52), Marlee Shuping (22:26), Paula Guerra (23:38), and Sydney Beadle (23:50) all scored for the Lady Sharks. Paulo Andrade (17:28), Shadyn Ziegler (17:49), and Jacob Wypych (17:51) placed 1,2,3 overall in the boy's race. Zaccary Wilkinson (18:31) and Brendan Rahill 19:38 also scored.

This is a busy time as Sharks XC has four races over the next two weeks. They start Saturday in Pawleys Island at the Warrior Invitational. Then a trip to The Great American Cross-Country Festival in Raleigh sandwiched between home meets on 9/30 and 10/7. Come out to cheer them on!

The Lady Sharks golf team defeated Myrtle Beach and Waccamaw Wednesday evening at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club. A PGA course didn't deter the sharks from chomping on some Seahawks and warriors with a score of 187-200-201. 8th grader Grace Pruitt was medalist with a 44. Scores counting in the match for the Sharks also included Avery Banasiewicz (46), Kali Grant (47), and Hannah Harper (50). The sharks travel to Hilton Head this weekend to play in the highly competitive WSCGA High School Invitational, an invite-only event that includes the top golf teams and individuals from all classifications as well as private and charter schools.

We would like to take the opportunity to introduce a few more of our Technical Scholars in SJHS Middle College. These students are participating in the Medical Assistant and Teacher Education programs.
