📣 NINE years ago, Michele came to work at CJI… and at this point, we’re all pretty sure the place would collapse into chaos without her.
She is the glue, the backbone, and occasionally the muscle. She is our security detail, animal control, resident baker, and has prevented at least several of us from launching the copier or our computers into the middle of the highway. She is our detective. If you need to know something, give her the internet and ten minutes.
There are about a hundred more things I could say about what she means to me personally, and stories I have from the last nine years, but since this is the professional page, I’ll behave. 😉
Michele, thank you for nine years of loyalty, laughter, and putting up with all of us. You’re truly one of a kind, and we are beyond lucky to have you. 💜

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 2 a.m., it's a good time to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, test the alarms, and practice your home fire escape plan.
This practice, often called "Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery," is a vital reminder to ensure your home is as safe as possible during the darker commute times.
Steps to take for smoke alarm safety:
Change the batteries: Replace the batteries in all your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Test the alarms: Press the test button on each alarm to ensure it is working properly.
Replace old alarms: Smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years, so check the manufacture date and replace any that are older than a decade.
Practice your escape plan: Have your family practice your fire escape plan to ensure everyone knows how to get out of the house quickly and safely.
Clean the alarms: Use compressed air to clean dust from the alarms to help prevent false alarms.

First Alert: Time to change the direction of your ceiling fans for the season! Now that Fall weather has settled in and there's a chill in the air, you might want to switch your ceiling fans to clockwise. This will push warmer air trapped near the ceiling back down to make you a little more comfortable. Keep the speed low so you get the mixing effect but not as much of the breeze.
I actually just did this on our home ceiling fans today, but I've held off on turning on the furnace! For now.
