Congratulations Mazie Bingham for being June’s Athlete of the Month! This is her story…

Hi, my name is Mazie & this is my story. As a young girl, I yearned for a life far different from my own. Growing up with an addict mother and an absent father, my journey was marred by adversity. As the years passed, my mother welcomed two more children into our turbulent world, and it was then that I realized the weight of responsibility on my shoulders; I had to become a guiding light for my siblings.

Amidst the chaos that enveloped our lives, I poured my heart and soul into my studies. Against all odds, I managed to graduate from school a year ahead of schedule, though the weight of my mother's addiction loomed heavy during that time. The scars of my own traumatic experiences ran deep.

At the tender age of 19, I became a mother myself, holding my newborn son in my arms. In that moment, I swore with every fiber of my being that my precious child would never endure the trials and tribulations I had faced. I made it my mission to shield him from the insidious cycle that had taken my childhood innocence.

With determination, I decided to try and give my son the life I never had. I dedicated myself to nurturing him with love, stability, and unwavering devotion, determined to break the chains of generational hardship. Alongside me, I found support from my husband, a pillar of strength who stood by my side throughout my healing journey. Together, we weathered the storms, lifting each other up, and celebrating every milestone along the way.

Becoming a part of Addict II Athlete has been a profound turning point in my life. It has shaped me into the resilient and empowered woman I am today. In September 2022, I accomplished something that once seemed impossible: I ran my very first 5K. As I stood at the starting line, I was surrounded by unfamiliar faces, yet the shared purpose among the participants warmed my heart. It wasn't long before I began attending meetings with my younger brother, and it was there that I was welcomed into the most ambitious and supportive group of individuals I have ever encountered.

Last weekend, I completed my first half marathon, a testament to my dedication and the strength I have cultivated along this journey. And now, my sights are set on even greater challenges. I am filled with anticipation and excitement as I plan to tackle my first 50-mile race at the Pony Express in 2023. This journey has not only transformed my physical endurance but also my spirit and my outlook on life.

To the AIIA family, I extend my deepest gratitude. Thank you for embracing me, for providing a safe space where I could grow and heal. You have become a huge part of my support system. Together, we will continue to inspire one another, breaking down barriers and defying the limits that once held us captive.

My story is one of resilience, hope, and triumph over adversity. I stand here today, a testament to the transformative power of love, determination, and unwavering support. And as I stride forward, embracing the challenges that lie ahead, I carry within me the unshakable belief that we can shape our own destinies and create a brighter future for ourselves and those who will follow in our footsteps.

I'm committed to helping families feel safe and secure in their homes.

I'm committed to giving peace of mind and relieving stress when it comes to making decisions about home purchases.

Your home is the most expensive purchase you will make (or pretty close.:)) It should be a place you love to be. Your home is where you will raise your kids, create memories, laugh and cry.

Buying or selling a home isn't something to take lightly. I know the weight of these decisions and the ripple effect it will have on your life and your children and grandchildren. That's why we not only give honest and straight forward inspection reports, but we care about you and your happiness.

I'm so proud of my real estate friends and so grateful to know you. You work tirelessly for your clients. You keep giving and giving.

You put clients first and yourself second. You stay up late. You miss holidays. You assist with offer after offer. If everyone in this country had the work ethic of real estate agents, this would be a better place indeed.

Wondering if you should get a home tested for mold?

This is a common question people have and here's our recommendation. Unless there is evidence of moisture or mold, or a strong reason to believe there is some, then we suggest you get the standard home inspection.

Our home inspections include infrared scanning so we can spot trouble spots. You can always add on an air quality test after if something questionable shows up on a scan.
