These pictures were taken exactly 1 year apart. A lot can happen in one year. Janae Knighton went from recovering from an injury to prepping for her first bikini competition. We couldn't be more proud!

Consistency is easy when you are making progress. But what about when you have a setback?
Janae Knighton broke her arm after training hard for a long time and working towards a competition. She couldn't lift for about a year. The doctors told her she wouldn't fully recover or be able to lift anywhere near as much weight ever again.
Was it discouraging? Yes! Did she let it stop her? Absolutely not, and we have now surpassed all expectations set by medical professionals.
How did we do it? Very slow and gradual progression over the past year. Patience and consistency. Very proud of you my friend. πͺ

When Darian started working with me she had a goal to feel better and to lose some of the fat gained during pregnancy. She had been working really hard for almost a year before hand, going to high intensity burn out boot camps and things of that nature.
We redirected the process. We focused on nutrition first and building strength instead of burning calories. By changing the approach her body started responding quickly.
She has dropped 7lbs of fat in the last 3 months, her mental health has improved, and physically she feels so much better. It has been fantastic to be a part of this process and to have watched her shine. I am excited to see where we are at in another 3 months.

Over the past couple of days we have had a lot of clients come to us with concerns about what to do on Christmas.
Family get togethers and holiday parties usually involve a lot of food and/or alcohol. Even after leading a healthy lifestyle for a number of years, holiday parties can cause some anxiety.
Our approach is this: Christmas is one day, enjoy it. That doesn't mean you should gorge yourself or overeat. It means don't beat yourself up if you have a couple cookies with your kids. Don't do 3 hours of cardio the next day because you had your grandma's homemade mac and cheese. But also don't feel obligated to eat things you don't want to eat. If sticking firmly to your plan makes you more comfortable, then you should do that. It's all about what feels right for you. One day out of the year will not make or break your fitness journey.
