This is the house fire we worked this afternoon on Lake Greeson . Murfreesboro Fire Dept would like to thank the Bingen , Nathan and Delight fire dept for coming to our aid and help with this fire and everyone that brought us water and Gatorade, we can't thank you enough. This fire was very challenging and difficult given the heat and being on a hill side with little access and limited water supply but with everyone's help we were able to contain it and keep it from spreading to other homes .Again we cannot thank everyone enough for your help including neighbors and Kevin and Aspen Fant .

3:30 pm Radar Update: Continuing to monitor these supercells in SE Oklahoma and NE Texas. These will continue to have an increasing tornado threat as these move towards and into SW Arkansas.

Unfortunately a pair of tornadic thunderstorms is moving towards the area and as they approach they will likely shift slightly east which will put Howard, Little River, Hempstead, Polk, Miller county, Pike county, Sevier country at increased risk of tornado circulations. Start preparing shelter. A tornado outbreak is underway with two confirmed so far. The hope is storm interactions mitigate the risk slightly, but so far not a good look.
Cities will be addressed closer.

We are watching other storms closely but stay aware this evening and monitor the page for new updates.

The red outline is the area at an increased risk for tornadoes and severe weather in the short term. Also expect wind damage and quarter sized hail and increased risk of flash flooding even outside of tornadoes.

FROM THE ARKANSAS FORESTRY DEPARTMENT. We are now under an extreme wildfire danger for some in Southwest Arkansas. This is the highest level. Extreme: Fires start quickly, spread furiously, and burn intensely. Every fire started has the potential to become large. Expect extreme, erratic behavior. Burn bans are in effect for some areas not shown on the map below due to timing of updates!
