🌸 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗩𝗛𝗦! 🌸

Our recent student wellness activity was a blooming success! Just in time for Mother’s Day, students gathered to craft beautiful, personalized bouquets for the special figures in their lives.

Here are a few reasons why this event truly warmed our hearts:

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗬𝗲𝘁: This was our most attended wellness activity of the entire year!

𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 & 𝗙𝘂𝗻: It was incredibly cool to see just how into building the perfect bouquet the students were. They had a blast working on their creations and putting genuine care into every single stem.

This wonderful afternoon wouldn't have been possible without 𝗠𝗧𝗖 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝘂𝗺𝗮𝘀, who generously hosted the event and provided all of the beautiful supplies. A huge thank you to Kathy!

🌿 A Day of Discovery at Filoli Gardens

Our incredible AVHS Group Mentoring students and mentors recently took a field trip to the beautiful 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗹𝗶 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 & 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻, and it was an absolute blast! From hands-on learning to exploring nature, the day was packed with unforgettable moments.

Here’s a look at what we did:
🥕 Harvest & Taste: We learned about sustainable growing and tasted fresh vegetables including some edible flowers!
🎨 Creativity in Nature: Students let their imaginations run wild with a fun outdoor art activity.
🧺 Picnic & Exploration: After a lovely picnic lunch, we took a short hike through the grounds
🐛 New Friends: We even crossed paths with a variety of friendly caterpillars along the way!

Opportunities like this allow our students and mentors to bond, explore new interests, and create lasting memories together outside the classroom. A huge thank you to Filoli for making this trip possible!

MTC is so excited to announce that 2 new Program Managers supporting our Mentor Program have joined us!

Please welcome 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐏é𝐫𝐞𝐳 𝐆ó𝐦𝐞𝐳, a new team member supporting mentors and students at Los Altos High School! With a background in operations and tech program management across Europe and the US, Iris brings incredible experience and a deep commitment to community service. Outside of work, she’s a busy mom who loves nature, family time, and sharing her love for Spanish culture.

We are also so lucky to have 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐭𝐳𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 as our Mentor Program Manager at Mountain View High School! Dedicated to fostering social, emotional, and mental wellness, Shannon uses her extensive background as a mental health counselor and program director to support student-mentor matches at MVHS. When she’s not empowering local youth, she’s hiking, hitting the dog park with her golden retriever, or grabbing boba with her daughters.

Earlier this week we had a blast celebrating MTC’s dedicated mentors and tutors at our Cinco de Mayo-themed 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁.

You are the heart of Mentor Tutor Connection. This past year, your dedication has changed lives, built confidence, and opened doors for students across our community. We are so proud of everything we’ve accomplished together this year! Thank you for a year of incredible impact and heart.

Recently, MTC mentor and Board member 𝗝𝗲𝗳𝗳 𝗢𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗺 led an incredible session on 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 for our group mentees! By sharing his own struggles and successes, Jeff did a brilliant job bridging the gap and making "money talk" approachable for our students.

30 Years of Helping Students Thrive – Front Page News!

We are still floating on air after our recent 30th Anniversary Celebration & Fundraiser! It was an incredible evening celebrating three decades of empowering local students through mentoring and tutoring.

We’re also proud to share that the beauty of the evening continued through the weekend. Through a partnership with Blossom Buddies, our event flowers were repurposed and delivered to a Mountain View rehab center, brightening the day for local residents.
