🏗️ Alta Garage was purposefully designed to not be a parking garage someday. We call the design future-proofed parking, which means that the building can easily be converted into commercial, residential, or community uses whenever the moment is right. 🏢🏠

Collecting Art 101 with Jonathan Carver Moore
Learn the fundamentals of collecting art in this free introductory session with San Francisco gallerist .
This conversation demystifies the art world and empowers participants to engage confidently as collectors and patrons of art.
Identify what pieces resonate with you, understand value—both financial and cultural—and learn to collect intentionally. Art patronage extends beyond traditional collecting, with opportunities to support and sustain artists and their practices.
This discussion will also explore innovative models of giving, funding, and advocacy that center on community and creating long-term impact.
Jonathan Carver Moore runs a contemporary art gallery that specializes in working with emerging and established artists who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and women. As the only openly gay Black male-owned gallery in San Francisco, Jonathan is committed to amplifying the voices of the often underrepresented artists through a Black q***r lens.
Jonathan has a BA in Sociology with a minor in Women’s Studies, as well as a Master’s in PR from The George Washington University. He is an active member in the Bay Area arts community as the development chair at , a visual arts non-profit, and the advisory council at .
