Knox County Job and Family Services proudly wears blue in commemoration of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The 2026 campaign theme, “It Takes a Community,” highlights the role every community member plays in preventing child abuse. Friends, families, colleagues, and neighbors can all help protect children by recognizing the signs of abuse, speaking up on their behalf, and getting involved with their local children services agency. By learning the signs, using your voice, and even considering becoming a foster parent, you can make a meaningful difference in a child’s life. The community can become mandated supporters, rather than mandated reporters.

Wear Blue tomorrow to raise awareness for the safety of children in your community and across the state. Child abuse and neglect is preventable, and it takes all of us to create communities where families have the resources and support they need to thrive.
