MVNU IGNITE Program

IGNITE hosted our first ever social event last week! Our students hosted the movie CARS and served dirty sodas and popcorn. There were over 50 people who showed up to the event. It was such a great time and we are proud of the hospitality our students displayed. Also, a huge thanks to IGNITE volunteers from our Vocations class as well as our housing mentors!

First year IGNITE students got to meet with Dr. Derr and Dr. Castleman today as part of their Life at MVNU course. We are so thankful that they were willing to meet with our students and answer questions they had. Our students very much enjoyed learning about this part of MVNU life. Also, thank you to Emily Smith for helping us set this up!

We would like to say a special thanks to Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene for hosting their Fall Harvest Party last night. Our IGNITE students really enjoyed the event, as well as some of our housing mentors and internship mentors. Special shoutout to “our” Lori Washington for making sure our students were invited and welcomed!

Some of our IGNITE students pulled off a surprise visit this morning. We headed off to Dresden Church of the Nazarene to surprise our Internship Supervisor, Dave Angle. Dave is the pastor of the church there and we were blessed to be able to worship together today!

We have several new faces in the IGNITE office and we wanted to take some time to introduce them to you.

Quick IGNITE update:
The 25-26 school year has started for our IGNITE students and we have been BUSY! Prior to the school year our 4 incoming students stayed on campus for 5 days to learn what living at MVNU is like and get to know their housing mentors.
Some of the MVNU activities so far include: launch week, move-in day, meeting and greeting with all of our families from cohort 1 and 2, celebrated two birthdays, working volleyball games, auditioning for and getting parts in the fall play, Ohio State football game gatherings, going to church together, sand volleyball, xbox, ping pong, and participating in a filming in Dublin. Returning students also start their internships this week! Oh! And of course, they have classes and chapel happening, too! What a great start to the year we are having!

🌟 Join Us at the Northeast Ohio Transition Fair! 🌟

We are excited to announce that the IGNITE Program will be participating in the Northeast Ohio Transition Fair tomorrow! This is a fantastic opportunity for students, families, and educators to explore resources and support for transitioning to post-secondary life.
