Little late this week but here are this weekends entries!

Lizzie and Jack always seem to be up to something…most days it’s working and taking care of the horses/dogs/cats and working on the farm in the “free” time. But this time, they brought home two little boer wethers! This plan has been in play since just after the little guys were born, but they were finally old enough to be weaned last week 😁

Welcome, Fred and George, and may you enjoy the weeds in the horses paddocks so that there is less mowing/weedwhacking to be done 🤣

Racing recap:

We had 6 in this last weekend and had a pretty good weekend!

Friday at Vernon: Smokey’s Passion (Frank Affrunti) won her second start in a row and set another new lifetime mark, this time crossing the wire in 1:53.4. She came a last quarter in 27.1, which was the fastest last quarter of the whole night! Mr Wiggle Pants (Frank Affrunti) had an interesting race-he got away last with a horse parked out next to him and then got pushed all over the track trying to shake loose and still came the fastest last quarter of the race for a strong second!

Friday at Saratoga: I’ve Got Hootspa (Billy Dobson) got away fifth and snuck up the inside for third with the fastest last quarter of his race! Dojea Solo (Billy Dobson) drew outside and after a little bit of a speed duel upfront, he went three wide and just couldn’t quite get there.

Saturday at Vernon: Majestic Sunset (Jack McNeil) got away last from the eight hole behind several horses that gapped him out nearly twenty lengths; Jack moved him headed into the stretch and even though he was hitting the bike he still had the fastest last quarter of the race and got up for fifth. Ponderance (Jack McNeil) got away fourth and came first over to finish third to a horse who was in the open at Batavia three starts ago!

All in all, we’re very pleased with how the crew raced this weekend. We’ve got a little tweaking to do and we’ll let you know when all the draws are done! Happy racing! 🍀💛💚
