There’s reasons I love lots of things. Long and slow sessions for making creative, intentional images and for the opportunities that time provides.

Mini sessions are their own separate thing. Simple, quick, a good challenge to make a lot of pictures in a short time while keeping kids (and dads, or is it dads and kids?) happy.

Mini sessions with me are pretty simple, classic portrait sessions. Child-led and in a pretty place that has consistently good light. Those are my priorities. If they’re yours too, then we might be a good match for this.

I’ve got mini sessions and (pictured here) in July 2025. Or if you want a full session to let things slowly unfold, we can do that too.

We consume so much - words and pictures, podcast, emails, social media, marketing. It’s too much, but I wonder if it’s only too much because it’s so narrow.

So much of what we see is upholding a single narrative, a societal standard which we’re either supposed to be constantly striving for or measuring ourselves against.

What if the words and pictures we saw day in and day out didn’t echo the same things over and over again?

What if they showed us lots of different ways to live and live well?

In our homes, our yards, our common spaces, our bodies.

Would that allow us to shift our expectations? Thus easing the burden of judgement we carry (it’s a heavy load for ourselves and others) & to embrace differences between all of us as the norm instead of the exception?

Body sessions are always an opportunity for me to reflect on what we see as beautiful & how we love ourself in spite of the world’s expectations.

The little things we do that make a life. Breakfast on Saturday morning. Walks around town. A trip to the farmers market. Dog snuggles and afternoon naps.

What makes a life and how do we know if it’s enough? What’s a favorite little ritual of your life?

I’ve had a lot of messages and people asking when I’m offering body sessions next, and winter has been a lovely exercise in hibernation but I’m feeling the call to make something new.

Let’s have some simple, studio inspired body sessions. Think minimalist bo***ir. Emphasis on the human form as the art with lines, light & movement.
