Gold Bug Island is a beautiful rental venue on the Intracoastal Waterway on Ben Sawyer Boulevard between Mount Pleasant and Sullivan's Island.
Please visit our website for information about our available dates and rental rates. Visits by appointment only. Gold Bug Island is home of the East Cooper Outboard Motor Club and offers a unique venue for your event. You do NOT have to be a member of the club in order to rent it. Located on the Intracoastal Waterway between Mt. Pleasant and Sullivan’s Island in South Carolina, it offers some amazing views of the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Beautiful day for a wedding
Our annual Turkey Shoot ended last night and was a great success. I’m sharing this from one of our patrons in hopes that someone mistakenly walked away with his shotgun thinking it was theirs.
Hey y’all,
Last night my beloved Re*****on 1100 went missing from the shoot. We had an awesome night working it… it was super busy. I took one shot towards the end…. Went to check my target…. came back and my gun I’ve had for 40+ years was gone. My dad won this gun at the Island Club turkey shoot around 1979. It has huge sentimental value (probably only worth $300!).
There was a 870 pump left behind so I I am hopeful that someone just grabbed the wrong gun. It’s not like we have a hotline to call so please keep your ears open in case someone is trying to make this right. Thanks y’all!

It’s always good for a venue to have a plan B on your big day. Hurricane Ian threw us a curve ball, but we were able to get a plan in place for our renters.
