It's been a year officially since I niched down to food and beverage photography and here is what I want y'all to know.

1. Food is so much more than sustenance. It is love. It is family. It is comfort. Food is emotion. Food is shared by all cultures, in all corners of the world...that doesn't make it boring, that makes it so so special.

2. People love seeing the texture of their food. I didn't realize this before, I had no clue how important a close up shot could be for marketing until I niched down.

3. People crave real. Real ingredients. Real stories. The truth about what they're getting when they walk through your door.

4. There is so much heart behind the food you eat. The farmers who grow it. The person behind the scenes who wants to share their recipes with you. Most of them aren't running a business to be a millionaire, they want to share something special with their customers.

It's been an INCREDIBLE YEAR, I cannot wait to see the cool stuff I get to do in the 2nd year!

No really...your AI generated food photos ARE fine.

They do the job. Show an okay example of what you're selling/offering...I bet you didn't expect me to say that.

The real question is- do you really want to be JUST fine?

Do you really want your customers confused about what they will ACTUALLY be receiving when they order?

Do you really want your customers expecting shiny buns, perfect drippy cheese, exactly 45 perfectly places sesame seeds?

Do you want your customers to silently (or publicaly) express their frustration with your AI generated menu and flyers?

Do you want to trade FINE for the trust that is required to sustain growth and customer loyalty and real success?

Yes...these photos are fine. But fine shouldn't be good enough.

REAL food photography builds trust, shows texture, makes you FEEL something. REAL food photography tells a story, builds a brand, improves a customers recognition of your food. REAL food photography creates confidence to you to show up more online.

AI is cheaper, yes. But can you AFFORD to put out JUST FINE???

And how perfect that my clients called me this week to say they needed a quick turnaround shoot to showcase some wedding and event set ups they want to promote!

So yesterday I trucked over to The Trailer Park Food Trucks and watched an incredible display come together that I would like to have available on my kitchen island at all times.

These delicious filled bites were 🤤🤤🤤🤤

You'll see a cheesecake one, tiramisu, chocolate salted caramel and my FAVORITE, espresso!

The donut spot for the international donut postings of the day is The Donut Palace! It's a cute stand alone donut shop that is usually sold out of the good stuff if you go too late.

Delicious donuts, breakfast items and everything made with love, you can tell. The staff is always friendly even though I know they're there early as heck!

Best part? They have a drive through for those mornings where your pajamas are not suited for public. 🤣🤣

I'm honestly jealous they're not on social media.

Friday is international donut day and that's basically like Christmas for me!

I made Mr Proper Nosh drive me around to the independently owned donut shops in Lebanon yesterday so I could highlight them for y'all!

Donut Time is FIRST UP.

Driving down Hartmann, you may not even see them near the intersection of Main but they're worth a stop!

I go there specifically for their pinecone which is essentially a cinnamon roll with donut holes attached and it's DELICIOUS!

Their chocolate glaze is super yummy too!

I can also confidently recommend their kloaches!

Now more than ever we need to support local!!!
