It feels like it’s time for something new. Recent events have given Jesse and I unusual burst of creative electricity. I kind of felt like it was time to reach back into some old ideas and give them new life. We’ve been taking dozens of old, undeveloped ideas and turning them into songs, about 24 in the past month, and the ideas keep coming. Like this creepy bunny-lady we recently saw at Cheekwood, it feels like inspiration is crawling out of the ground and urging us to create. Time and resources may allude, but new tools are giving us new, inspirational spark, and we feel like there are stories to be told for the few who will actually listen. We’ve nothing to prove as a couple of old dads who have careers and responsibilities and so much else. But in the midst of all the useless pap that is floating in the ether for all of us to ingest, it’s felt really good to step away from scrolling and put pen to paper and embark on a seriously ambitious concept I dreamed up a couple of years ago. Forgive this Sunday morning stream of consciousness, hoping to have something to share soon.
