Stop Greentree Overdevelopment - Mount Airy Md.

So....The police station will cost them $6,000,000 to save $75,000 a year?
So the break-even point is 80 years? OK, we know that the economics don't exactly work that way...rent goes up, real estate increases in value...etc.....but lets pretend it's half of that (IT IS NOT)......so pretend break-even is 40 years. Is it really a better deal for the Town to do this in this way? Is that the best use of funds? It takes away potential Commercial use, takes the land off of the tax base, and costs the town $6 to purchase the land and build-out the station. A station that will be at the furthest edge of town. It is away from the heart of town and away from Town Hall. What financial or logistical reasons are there to put the police station at Greentree?

The town has admittedly been considering this in closed session for years - where is a study or a list of pros and cons.

Where is the Council's list of requirements for a 'proper' police station? Or is all of that secret too?
