Hey Everyone! Grow Where Planted! Focused on education through hands on experiences. We love our farm and our animals! Thanks for stopping by! Simply Seeded
We raise them, enjoy them, love them, sell them, and make sure they have a wonderful, happy life. As a first generation farmer, I have found it can be a little of a lonely road when starting to homestead and farm. I want to grow a community, pass off my skills and learn from others, so I opened up the farm to teach classes. Whether you are interested in homesteading, already homesteading, want to

Piggie visit today! She got lots of lovin’
10/27/2022
As some of you know, we took a rough turn when we lost one of our momma pigs, Poptart, a month and some change ago.
Not long after her piglets took a turn as well and I wasn’t able to save them. The third and final one was thriving, doing fantastic, and then overnight took a turn as well.
I was much more aggressive on his treatment and this time, tho he wasn’t showing signs of being sick initially, I gave him some antibiotics.
I did that for a couple of days and tho we are def not in any clear, he seems to be getting better vice worse. Tho I give people a hard time (lovingly of course 😉) for making food for their animals, I have made this little piggy some pretty nice meals (for a pig). He’s currently eating homemade applesauce, eggs and bone broth.
I’m still not naming him (tho I do have a name - Wilbur), he’s putting weight on, eating and drinking and has solid poo.
Still a large mountain to climb but hopefully he will have a better outcome.
Here’s to learning and surviving. 🥂
Don’t forget to come out today at 3-5 for our first Homesteading Group!

Homesteading has been one of the top things in my life that is a test of my character.
Having 200 animals, 5 kids, a husband, a home, 13 homesteading classes, and 8.6 acres to maintain, love and nurture is hard.
Some moments are happy, beautiful, and “picturesque”. Others, which aren’t really shared, are hard and not “two taps worthy”. Too much reading. Nothing pretty about the picture.
I’ve spent the last 5 days trying to save a piglet. I was told they don’t do well if they do need to be bottle fed. Short story long, after trying so much, we lost that battle.
Ive had many tears tonight, and tormw I will continue to move forward, but tonight, this kitten has decided to lay next to my feet while I’m doing dishes. And even tho she’s a huge trip hazard, I believe animals have a sense. And even tho “she’s in the way”, I’m very grateful to have the comfort of one of my animals, when my hearts breaking for another I just lost.
To those who are on the fence about taking that step to homestead or do something new- go for it. Bc even in the sadness, I have learned to love stronger and harder, and to not give up.

Went to PA this wkend to learn a skill from a friend on…..the pressure cooker.
Thankfully we didn’t blow up the house 🙄 (literal fear), and canned some chicken!!!!
Now I came back and pressure canned some of our produce from our garden!
So pumped!
Now on to more recipes!

Taught myself a new skill set today (thanks YouTube)
This piano was left here when we moved, but it’s very out of tune. I bought the tuning equipment over a year ago in hopes to tune it myself. But bc it’s a new skill, the work up required a lot for me to even start.
Well today, I started. And it’s not even as bad as I thought!!!
Now going to try to learn to actually play it!
