Save the date! Have dinner at Siempre de Fiesta (all day). A portion of the proceeds go to the Historical Society of Mount Airy to be used for the Flat Iron Preservation Project.

The Flat Iron Task Force greatly appreciates the Carroll delegation's support for the Historic Flat Iron Building and other Mount Airy projects.

The state’s Capital Budget features bond funding for infrastructure, physical plant and public safety projects. It is a separate process and funding source than the state’s operating budget/BRFA. Our Carroll County Delegation was able to work together and across party lines with our colleagues in the Senate and House of Delegates, to secure funding for a number of key projects supporting public safety, veterans, students, our developmentally disabled community and several of our towns in Carroll (as well as the Frederick County portion of District 5 - Mt. Airy). We were glad to be able to address these needs and look forward to continuing to partner with organizations in our county.

The Town of Mount Airy is working with Brennan and Company Architects to create a renovation plan for the Flat Iron Building. This renovation plan should be completed sometime this summer. This will lead the way toward the beginning of phase 1 of the renovation which includes fixing moisture issues on the bottom floor and adding to the foundation for an elevator shaft on the south side of the building.
