Why do we card fiber?
Carding alpaca fiber helps align the individual fibers, removes debris, and blends fiber for a consistent texture. Alpaca fiber is naturally soft and slippery, so drum carding prepares it into smooth, airy batts or rovings that are much easier to spin, felt, or use in other fiber crafts.
