Vandal Chess Club

Hello VCC Members,
It has been a crazy couple of months since the farmer’s market has started back up. Unfortunately they will not be having any sit down vendors or activities this season so no more chess till the school year starts back up. I am hopeful that we will be able to get back to the market next season but it might not happen. I am also hoping that we will be able to meet during the school year as I know Covid is still a big problem. I will do my best to keep monitoring how things are going and see what the university is doing for clubs and classes. In the meantime I will put up meeting dates for the upcoming school year and if we are able to meet up I will bring sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer with me. I hope you all are doing well and staying safe.

Unfortunately we will not be doing the market this weekend as they aren’t having us come back yet. They aren’t sure as to when sit down events will be coming back so we will keep you posted with any updates as they come. We hope to see everone when we get back to the market.

Hello VCC Members,
We hope all of you are doing well during this time of crisis. It has been a hard couple of months without a game chess played but we hope you found time to play online to get your chess fill. We are excited to say that we will be back. Our first day back is June 13th at the Moscow Farmer’s Market. If you do join us, masks are preferred and we will be cleaning the boards and pieces after each use. We are looking forward to returning and hope to see everyone there.

Unfortunately the virus has gotten worse and the University has closed all buildings on campus. We will be canceling tonight’s meet and the next meet. We will be looking at different venues to try and hold meetings as the Commons may not open back up before the end of the school year. Once things start calming down, we will look into holding our chess meets again. We hope all of you are doing well and staying safe.

Hello VCC Members,
Unfortunately we will be canceling tonight’s meet due to the Coronavirus. The university is set to start cleaning each building on campus to help prevent the spread and has urged students to avoid meeting in large groups. I am hoping that we will be able to meet at the next meet but will keep everyone updated. I hope you all are doing well and we will see you at the next meet.

Hello VCC members,
Tonight’s meet will be moved into the IRIC (Integrated Research and Innovation Center) as the Commons and the TLC are closed due to flooding. The IRIC is the big glass building just below the Commons closer to the Tower.

This is our last day at the market this season!
Hope to see everybody at the market. We will be back next season.
We will still meet during the UofI school year every Thursday night from 6:30-9:00 in the Idaho Commons Food Court.

Attention VCC members,
We will be at the Vandal Overnight Games this Saturday after the Moscow Farmer’s Market Saturday morning. We hope you all will be able to join us at both of our events. This weekend and the next two weekends will be our last two at the farmer’s market for this market season (Sept. 28th, Oct. 5th, and Oct. 12th). Our next meet is this Thursday night from 6:30-9:00 in the Idaho Commons Food Court.

Hello VCC members we will be having another meet tonight at 6:00 pm in the Idaho Commons Food Court. If you can’t make to the meet tonight we will still have our scheduled meet next Thursday at 6:30 pm. I hope to you all there and GO VANDALS!

Hello VCC members I do apologize for the late announcement but I just found out that the Idaho Commons are locked up. I will stand outside the main doors to the Commons food court. I am hoping that the IRIC building is open still. If not I will unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s meet. Hope everyone is doing well and has a great pi day.
