SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 💚✨💐🌾

Savanah Szupello is a senior majoring in Pre-Veterinary Science. Something she is proud of during her college experience is sticking to her path even when things got challenging. She says, “Being on the pre-vet track while gaining hands-on experience in clinics pushed me a lot, but it confirmed that this is what I want to do.”

Sigma Alpha has given Savanah, “A community of strong, supportive women who have made such a lasting impact on my college experience. The friendships and connections I’ve built mean so much to me, and I know they’ll continue long after graduation.”

A memory that stands out to Savanah, during her time as a sister is working together as a group to plan and execute events like our annual banquet. “Seeing everyone come together, support each other, and create something meaningful made me realize how strong our sisterhood is.”

During college, Savanah has the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica on a veterinary focused trip. She got to participate in a high-volume, high-quality, spay and neuter clinic, where she assisted with procedures and help care for animals in an underserved community.

Savanah’s advice for future members: “My biggest advice for future members is to take advantage of opportunities even if they feel a little outside your comfort zone. Some of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had in college and in Sigma Alpha came from saying yes to things I wasn’t fully confident in at first. I would also encourage members to get involved and build relationships within the organization. The leadership experience and skills are valuable, but the connections you make with other members are just as important and often last well beyond college.”

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 💚💐✨🌾

Rachel Becker is a senior, majoring in Agricultural Science, Communication, and Leadership. She is able to graduate a year early, due to credits earned in high school and her hard work and collaboration with her advisor!

Sigma Alpha has provided a variety of opportunities to Rachel, “Aside from amazing professional development opportunities, I have gained many great friends and even more memories. I have always felt like I am apart of a family that supports me every step of the way.”

Rachel’s favorite memory in Sigma Alpha is from her time going through recruitment. She says, “The whole week was full of activities including a paint and pass where we switched painting every 2 minutes or so. I had so much fun fun and got the chance to interact with the current members. I still have the painting in my room and it serves as a great reminder of that night.”

While in college, Rachel got the opportunity to implement a new garden for the Guardian Angel St. Boniface School as part of her Master Gardener class. It will be a student/community run garden where they will be able to grow vegetables and native pollinators.

Rachel’s advice for future members: “Sigma Alpha is such a great organization to be a part of. College can be overwhelming and even scary at times. Having a group of women with like-minded interests is a blessing. They are always there as your sisters to help you keep going and there’s always a shoulder to lean on. I am so grateful for everything this sorority has given me and it is a bittersweet goodbye. I highly advise anyone curious about Sigma Alpha to talk with any current members or our wonderful advisor, Hannah Doumit.”

We have loved being your sister in agriculture, Rachel 🤍

Our sisters got to support Alpha Gamma Rho’s philanthropy, supporting breast cancer awareness 🩷

We competed in various “rodeo” events, and Cody won the auction for the team to shave Braydon’s head to further support the philanthropy.

Our chapter placed 3rd overall in supporting the cause!
