Hey, educators: please tell your most adventurous students about our Semester In The Wild program! I just finished week two of the 2024 environmental writing course, and I'm here to tell you that spending time at the Taylor Wilderness Research Station is an incredibly unique experience. Wilderness areas provide so much for us: moments of awe and wonder; feelings of peace, mindfulness, and serenity; a healthy sense of scale and perspective on our lives; and a chance to build strength, resilience, and community with others (human and more-than-human). Students in our program gain knowledge of ecology, history, sustainability, leadership, and writing in a range of genres, while also learning skills such as cutting wood, harvesting animals and plants, planning a backpacking trip, saddling horses, packrat-proofing a 100-year-old cabin, cooking a healthy, delicious meal for 15+ people, and more. It's the BEST. Spread the word about the amazing opportunity that is !

It was fun thinking about nostalgia in conjunction with these "weatherwave"/vaporwave videos and talking with Wired magazine!
Lo-Fi Weather Channel Videos Are Soothing Climate Fears on YouTube Hours-long videos of ’80s and ’90s Weather Channel broadcasts set to vaporwave tunes are all over YouTube. They’re perfect for those moments you want to remember a time when weather was a little less scary.
