Homesteading tips I've learned for next time....
When clearing trees and brush from a fence line or near old barns and such, be sure to wash up with Dawn dish soap in the shower!
I learned this from the nurse this morning at OSF Urgo, because I've broken out in poison ivy rash EVERYWHERE!!!!!
But honestly I've been sensitive to poison ivy for the past few years, and I just need to go get a shot each spring like my dad does so I dont suffer....ugh...
Our latest flock of meat birds!!! We got these Jumbo Cornish Cross chickens from Cackle Hatchery. Picked them up from the post office a couple days after they hatched. We will keep them in this brooder box for a couple weeks before they get put outside in the chicken tractor. Hoping thry butchering weight before Thanksgiving so we have our freezer stocked for the winter!!!

Tomatoes are still going strong so I am making up pizza sauce with this batch...I have hundresd of tomatoes still on the vine but the temps are starting to dip, so we may have to do the "banana in a box" method soon to finish these babies out for the year.
