I haven’t updated for so long! The salon is closed. I’m still done working. I will always have trouble with my leg. Thank you all who came to me for so long.

I had an amazing run. A career with so many nice people. I feel blessed in every way.

All moved out! Thanks for almost 20 years in this location!

Well, Tomorrow is my last day working in the salon. I have to say..I will horribly miss so many of you! I have had so much kindness and love from my friend-customers for almost 25 years!

When I was a little girl …. I was inspired after a salon visit watching my Aunts get their hair done. I went home and was mesmerized by my parents hair tools in the bathroom drawer. How did my parents have so many scissors?? I experimented first on myself, then siblings, dog and friends. I had a skill.

After high school, I went to ICC. Everyone told me I couldn’t support myself doing hair. One semester down taking anatomy and psychology and tons and tons of notes… I heard a commercial on the Radio! I drove to Oehrline School of Cosmetology. I was just realizing I was not going to be able to afford to be a dermatologist! I signed up that day. The rest is history.

I have been very blessed in Morton. Lori Parkin at A New You was my first place. She swept me under her wing and I learned a lot at her salon. Then later I left realizing booth rent could help me support myself since I was in a very bad marriage and getting divorced.

I worked at Studio 117 and made so many friends. Then, hoping to start my own place it finally happened! I opened Shear Images not having a clue at all! My business flourished. I even had a 12 year period where I couldn’t even take new clients.

Everyone was so happy for Josh and I when we married. We have Kenton and I am excited to not miss everything he will be doing. His whole life I have averaged 50+hour weeks. My legs are thankful to be done. I remember thinking the ladies scolding me for wearing high heels were crazy. I guess that’s youth. I wouldn’t make it 30 min in heels today! 😬

Had some help unloading 19 years of junk today! 💕

The Salon is closing August 23rd!

Just to let everyone know that the as of today the salon phone is shut off. I do not have Wi-Fi until I’m done for the next 7 or 8 weeks 😬

I’ve been hesitant to type these words, but it looks like my issue isn’t just veins. I’m now being sent to a neurologist. I planned on surgery and coming back. What I have is neuropathy and you can’t fix it.

This means I will probably be cutting way back and ending much before December.
I am hoping to be completely done by the last week of August.

I Leslie Baumann Neville need to tell my clients a decision Josh and I have made.

After a lot of thought, we have decided that I am retiring in December. I cannot stand much longer.

My varicose veins in my legs are so much worse. I am currently waiting to schedule yet another leg surgery.

I am hoping the advanced notice will help us all transition through this process.

I love so many of you like family. I have been so blessed to have this business for the last 18 years.

I had a color drop off today at 1:30 if anybody else is down this week and would like to come today?

Starting in May I am only going to work one evening past 6pm.  I am sorry if this doesn’t work for everyone. I am just not happy working until 8 o’clock in the evening anymore.
