Receiving guests at Saint Peter's University for the Fine Art Student Expo as part of . It's a hot 92 degrees in the city but it didn't stop a steady stream of guest to come and speak with the artists exhibiting. Grateful to all our friends and supporters. What makes this expo remarkable is that our Graphic and Fine Art students have organized the entire event on their own accord over the summer, driven purely by their independent spirit and deep love for art. Come and see the work or send a note to get connected.

I had the pleasure today of presenting to the Mission Subcommittee of the Board of Trustees at Saint Peter’s University on the ongoing work of the AI Task Force (which I chaired this year).
The discussion focused on the rapidly changing landscape of AI in higher education, including emerging technologies, Blackboard Ultra integrations, Gemini and other AI systems, opportunities for teaching and research, and the importance of approaching these developments through the lens of Jesuit mission, ethics, discernment, and human-centered learning.
I also got a chance to highlight some of the things the latest generation of AI can do, including research, image creation, video creation, rubrics, vibe coding and more.
Thank you to Fr. James Miracky, S.J. and the committee for the invitation and thoughtful engagement. It was a privilege to contribute to the conversation.

I am looking forward to presenting a talk titled "Photography Is Born: A Journey in Photography’s Art and Innovation" on Tuesday, March 24 at 12:00 PM at Haven House in North Cape May, New Jersey.
This lecture traces the birth of photography in the nineteenth century and its earliest transformations across science and art. We will look at how figures such as Daguerre and Talbot worked with light, chemistry, and optics to fix the visible world onto paper and metal. From camera obscura experiments to early portraits and landscapes, photography quickly became both a marvel and a practical method of documentation.
The talk considers how photography reshaped perception and memory and helped form the foundations of modern visual culture.
Grateful for the opportunity to share this history and to connect with audiences interested in the evolution of image making.
I'm doing more of these talks around the state. Reach out if this fits your community too.

Every so often a student sends something that stops you in your tracks - today it was this entirely visual résumé from Berk Karşı, one of the hardest-working, most self-motivated young designers I’ve had the privilege to teach.
Berk came into my classroom with an interest in Graphic Design… and since then he has taken off. He’s become an active creator across photography, video, branding, fitness media, and Adobe’s full creative suite. His resume says everything without a single paragraph - completely visual, beautifully organized, and unmistakably him.
Berk is fluent in Turkish and English, deeply committed to his craft, and absolutely available for hire. Anyone looking for a driven designer, content creator, editor, or visual storyteller should take a serious look — this kind of initiative and clarity at this stage of a career is rare.
Proud of you, Berk. Keep going! the work is awesome!

I’m honored to share that my piece Spine has been accepted into the 2026 International Juried Exhibition at The Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster, NJ.
The exhibition runs January 30 – March 29, 2026, with an opening reception on January 30, 6–8 PM.
This year’s call brought in over 800 submissions from 304 artists, with only 59 works selected. I'm humbled to have my work included.
This year’s exhibition was juried by Donna Gustafson, a distinguished New Jersey–based curator, critic, and writer with a PhD in Art History. Her career includes serving as Chief Curator at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University, Director of Exhibitions at the Hunterdon Art Museum, and Chief Curator at the American Federation of Arts in New York. She has organized major exhibitions on artists such as George Segal, Angela Davis, Lalla Essaydi, LaToya Frazier, Coco Fusco, and many others, with support from the Mellon Foundation, the Warhol Foundation, the Luce Foundation, and the NEA.
My sincere thanks to Donna Gustafson and to The Center for this opportunity. If you’re local or passing through New Jersey during the exhibition, I’d be grateful if you could stop by and see the work in person.

Thank you to everyone who braved the cold and came out to our show last night. We had a full evening of thoughtful conversations about our work, about New Jersey, about the future of Saint Peter’s University, and some especially meaningful discussions with students.
One of the photos from the night includes SPU President Benitez, Dean Jeff Dueck, and Vice President for Academic Affairs Weidong Zhu, who were generous with their time and support throughout the event. On the end is Dr. Chris Durante, a theologian, who is our ardent supporter.
(That one with Slash is a gift from Weidong 😂)
We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and helped make the night a real exchange of ideas. More conversations ahead.
For once I wasn't photographing all night so I will add more pictures as they arrive.
