OK runners, even though we cannot be together at Loantaka Brook Reservation, it does not mean we can't do our Opening Ceremony!

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!...or at least it was suppose to be today. Even though the event had to be cancelled, we are happy to tell you that over 300 people have signed up for the virtual event! Thank you so much for your support of not only our event, but of Goryeb Childrens Hospital as well. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect even half this many people when we decided to go virtual. There are no words to describe what we are feeling!

Why do our 5K Virtually?
- Even though we can't all be together on race day, doing the Action For Distraction virtually will give you a goal to strive towards, and something healthy to do while you're on quarantine.

-Kids are still going to Goryeb Children's Hosptial every day, and still need all important distractions from their pain. 100% of the profits from this race go to funding means of distraction for the thousands of kids who go through the doors there every year.

-We have amazing businesses that are still supporting the Action For Distraction, despite our current tough times. Once we're all out and about again, we can wear our race t-shirts OUTSIDE of the house, and promote these businesses who helped keep our mission alive.

-While we want to continue our mission started by our family (and mainly Zach), his sister also wanted to do something nice for the staff that is taking care of the patients at the hospital. So, for every registration, Mackenzie will crochet and donate an ear saver to Morristown Medical Center.

There are so many reasons to do this race with us ... we hope you'll sign up.

It is with a heavy heart that we have to tell you that this year's LIVE, IN PERSON Action For Distraction is being cancelled by the Foundation For Morristown Medical Center out of an abundance of caution for the flu, COVID-19 and other seasonal illnesses, as well as in keeping with the CDC guidelines on social distancing. While we are cancelling the live event on May 9th, we ARE keeping the event's "Virtual 5K" option open!
