Epic Dad Life

So I figured out how to ask AI to change the background on photos and now I can't stop. Here's some from tonight during dinner. What is he doing? Cutting Triscuits with a knife and dipping them in Truff hot sauce.

Apparently, I'm a Guinea Pig dad now and I have to bond with this guy. Well then, we eat midnight snacks together then. Is it ok that he's on my kitchen counter? Is it sanitary? I really don't give a flying f@&k at this moment. We're bonding.

Great weekend with my lil buddy in Salmon Idaho for hockey.

The monkey bars strike again. This boy has now broken every bone in his left arm from falling off the monkey bars. He had surgery last night and is now chilling and recovering. The folks at the hospital have been great.

He we make a full recovery and his growth plate is fine and he didn't hurt any tendens. There are a couple of screws in there now that will come out in a few weeks. Hopefully, he can get back out on the soccer pitch to finish the season and get ready for hockey. He'll probably miss the whole week of school, but I'll make sure he watches nothing but educational documentaries.

So proud of my boy! He had an amazing 12 goals this weekend and helped lead his to victory.

If you remember his season last, it wasn't the best for him. He's team was an amazing group of boys, but their season was rough. I'm so happy that his team this year is really clicking. It's going to be a great season.

My cat, Mr. Moon, met a new friend today in our front yard.

In less than 24 hours I'll be dancing on stage in front of sooooo many people to raise money families in my community. I actually can't wait.

The first dad meet-up group was a success.

Story time! When I was home with three kids under 4 and just moved to the brubs of Denver, I felt very alone. I moved away from my one and only stay-at-home dad friend, and I felt all alone. I was still taking my kids to story times at the library and playgrounds, the typical stay-at-home parent stuff. But I wasn't connecting with anyone, and quite frankly, I was the only dad 99% of the time. So I looked online for some sort of dad group. To my dismay, there's was nothing. So I did what any sensible man would do, I joined a moms group.

My family and I ended up moving once again, and this time, it would be to a whole new state. I knew once I got settled in my new home that I wanted to start a dads group in my new town. I was extremely lucky when I found Roots, or extremely lucky Roots found me. I became a board member, and now we are working hard to get more groups and events for the dads. Roots already does some many great things, and we're super excited to expand.

Today was the first dads meet-up. The was more than excited and gracious to have us. The two kiddos had a lot of fun, and we dads got to talk about whatever we wanted.

I hope to have many more of these in the near future at many different times and locations. I will definitely keep posting about it, and when news dates and times pop up, you'll be the first to know.
