Crete Lions Club - Lions e-Clubhouse The Crete Lions Club is a part of Lions Clubs International, a network of volunteers who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.

The Crete Lions are in desperate need of help!!
Our Crete Lions Club is looking for able bodied men, women and teenagers who would be willing to give an hour or two a week in VOLUNTEER service to our RECYCLE CENTER.
We are the oldest, continuously operating recycling center in the state of Illinois, started in 1945.
Many of our Crete Lion members who volunteer at our Recycle Center are getting up there in age. There is a threat of closing soon if we don't get more - younger help.
VOLUNTEERING improves mental and physical health, increases life satisfaction, and allows you to learn new, marketable skills while directly giving back to your community.
If you are retired OR just have a day off and are looking for a worthy cause to help, please consider coming to the Crete Recycle Center at 1215 Douglas Lane during our open hours - M-F 7am to 9am or Saturday 7am to noon and help us out by sorting cardboard, plastics, glass and aluminum into balers.
Your Crete Lions would appreciate the help. BONUS: We have coffee and donuts.

Last Thursday, June 11th, the Crete Lions Club had a Scholarship Dinner and New Officer induction at Scrementi's Restaurant. Congratulations to our Scholarship winners: Cadence Argue, Isis Shores, Lamari Brock, Chanel Tafolla, Kayla Misch, and Rhiannon Leal. We are proud to announce that our District Governor, Denise Lowe, swore in our new officers: Sandi Smigel, President, Quejera Boykins, 1st Vice President, Chris Manola, 2nd Vice President and Secretary, Elizabeth Oestmann, Treasurer, Membership Chairperson, Jo Hansen, LCIF Coordinator, Dave Simpson, and our Board of Directors: Sheila Einhorn , Therese Hale , Jeanine Galbraith, Bob Kraemer and Pat Mulchaey. CONGRATULATIONS to Lion Chris Manola for earning a Lion of the Year award for her awesome service to our club and the community this year!! WE ARE READY TO SERVE THIS COMING LION YEAR!!

Had the best time with my Lions - Quejera Boykins, Diane Kulak-Brcycki, Chris Manola, Jo Jordan Hansen and Sandi Scampini-Smigel in the Memorial Day parade!! Our little Mini Cooper did us proud!! THANK YOU TO ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED IN THE MILITARY AND GOD BLESS THE ONES WHO FOUGHT HARD AND NEVER CAME BACK FREEDOM ISN'T FREE!!
