All of our events hold some special meaning...many serve a greater good in that they raise funds and awareness for our partner non-profits...others support our communities with wellness, fitness, and social opportunities...all of them provide opportunities for people to come together in some combination of volunteering, participating, and organizing to make each event whole and incredible. Articles like this, created by a volunteer photographer for the day, are so heartwarming and make every challenge along the way worth the while. We LOVE that an individual supporter, of their own volition, found their own unique way to use their skill set to uplift this event, it's host and their mission, and so many of the individuals who made the day so special. Market Street Mission hosts Independence Day 5K race Market Street Mission (MSM) of Morristown celebrated its 11th annual 5K Race for Recovery at the Central Park of Morris County in Parsippany-Troy Hills, on Friday, July 4.

So enamored by this special lady Debbie! She bossed today like nobody's business! All in the name of elevating the Market Street Mission. Another beautiful 5K Race for Recovery in the books!

Raymond Smith, Karen Lee, and Amanda Tears Smith having an awesome morning at the Red White and Blue 5K! It was Ray's first 5K on his new knee and just after his 4 month surgi-versary! Karen and I had the privilege of escorting in the final finisher and learning that this was also his first post-surgery 5k... after triple bypass! We were all able to lend a small hand pre-race to support our friend and race director Nirav Shah who did an amazing job along with the crew at CJRRC. It's always fun to be on the participant side of these community events and we did not envy all of the responsibility heaped onto Nirav and CJRRC. Always remember to thank your event support teams if you enjoyed your experience...a little compliment can go a long way! Happy 4th... hope to see some of your smiling faces at Market Street Mission's 5K Race for Recovery on Friday :)
