👏🏼 Massive congratulations to Next Level Athlete Rob Wisniewski! 😵 In only his first season of Triathlon and his first ever 70.3, absolutely crushed 70.3 EagleMan yesterday!

▶️ Rob began training with .dags only 7 months ago and didn’t miss a beat. While he was already a gifted athlete, his work ethic and dedication are second to none.

✅ Rob is extremely consistent, never complains about anything, and frequently does extra—maybe a little too extra (which sometimes drives Coach crazy 🤪).

🤙🏼 Super proud of his daily effort in training, as well as the ex*****on of our pacing and nutrition plan on race day. 🔥 This dude has a bright future in the sport of Triathlon and we’ve only scratched the surface of his potential!

💠 Testosterone is a crucial s*x hormone for both men and women. It plays a vital role in various bodily functions, including muscle growth, bone density, and s*x drive.

🌐 While naturally produced in the body, testosterone can also be administered exogenously, primarily for conditions like hypogonadism (low T). Low T levels can lead to various symptoms, as you can see in this summary.

🔹 Testosterone levels naturally decline with age, but this can be mitigated to a certain extent with proper lifestyle and nutrition choices. Testosterone levels are often misunderstood by the general public, leading to misuse and poor guidance, even from physicians.

👏🏼 Huge congratulations to Next Level Athlete Brian Cusick! completed his first ever triathlon last Sunday, but it wasn’t the typical sprint triathlon that most first-timers choose.

🤦🏻‍♂️ Instead, Brian opted for an Olympic off road Tri (0.9-mile swim / 25-mile mountain bike on brutal terrain / 6.2-mile trail run) as his first race, which should tell you a little more about him!

☑️ Only 9 months ago, Brian started training with .dags for this event. At the time, he could barely swim across the pool and was only doing 20 minute jog/walks. MTB was his strongest event, but the fitness definitely wasn’t there.

▶️ Brian has made tremendous progress over that time and is now consistently doing more than 2,000-yd structured swim workouts with intensity, running over 6 miles on a regular basis, and doing 90+ minute intense sessions on the bike.

🚵🏼 Although the swim was cancelled due to extreme cold 🥶, it was replaced with an additional 5K run before the bike leg and he didn’t miss a beat.

✅ Super proud of Brian’s daily effort in training, as well as his positive attitude and consistency. Looking forward to seeing him in action again soon!

🙌🏼 Some useful tips here from .dags on how to avoid overtraining and/or under-recovery.

😩 Some of the common pitfalls we see among athletes are:

🚫 Training too hard on easy days
🚫 Not fueling enough to support their training volume
🚫 Misjudging RPE / Intensity
🚫 Not prioritizing sleep / recovery

☕️ If you’re like me, you enjoy the morning cup (or 2) of coffee!

😄 Caffeine is an adenosine receptor antagonist, which is a fancy way of saying that it promotes wakefulness by blocking adenosine receptors in the brain.

🧠Additionally, this increases dopamine levels which makes us feel good.

🥱 However, too much caffeine reduces its positive effects and can actually disrupt the body’s normal sleep/wake (circadian) rhythm.

☑️ Caffeine is a safe and effective performance supplement, when used appropriately. It’s important to be strategic with caffeine consumption as it relates to training, sleep, and overall performance.

💠 Colostrum is the first form of breast milk that is released by the mammary glands in the first 48-72 hours after giving birth. It is high in protein and filled with white blood cells that produce antibodies, which help strengthen the newborn baby’s immune system.

✴️ Colostrum supplements are a powdered version of the first milk a cow releases after giving birth. They have a wide variety of health benefits, including improved immune function, gut health, metabolism, and hair/skin support.

📚 Over 5,000 research studies attest to the benefits of bovine colostrum in human health!
