Ever wonder how our margherita pizza, “The Scanno” got its name? The Scanno is named after the hometown of Eustachio (Steve) and Maria Colasante, the founders and parents of our restaurant. A beautiful small, Italian town in the mountains of the Abruzzo region in Italy.
In May, Cindy and Domenic had the chance to visit Scanno for the first time. The beauty of the area was breathtaking and they could easily see why Steve and Maria loved Morgantown and chose it as the place to raise their family and make their life. The mountains definitely were reminiscent of what they grew up in. The mountains are slightly different in comparison but still equally as beautiful. Below are some pictures from their visit. Domenic was able to stand outside the entrance to his great grandmother’s residence, which is now a law office. And also visit the church that his grandparents were married in.
