WE REMEMBER. 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years ago, September 11 became a day forever etched in our nation’s history. Today, we remember the lives lost, honor the courage and sacrifice of those who responded, and grieve with the families who continue to carry the weight of that day.

As we look back on a day marked by so much loss, we’re reminded that our hope in Jesus reaches beyond even our deepest grief. We look forward to the glorious day when every tear will be wiped away, death will be no more, and all that is broken will be made new.

We’re excited to begin a new series this Sunday! The Sermon on the Mount is a 12-week journey through Matthew 5–7 and some of Jesus’ most well-known teachings. From the Beatitudes and being salt and light to prayer, generosity, and more, we’ll take a closer look at His words and what they teach us about following Him today.

We’re starting this Sunday with the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:1–12. Take some time to read through the passage this week if you’re able, and we’ll see you on Sunday!

There’s always more to discover when we open God’s Word and study it together! As we ask questions, learn from one another, and dig deeper into Scripture, we can better understand what it looks like to follow Jesus. Our Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies begin September 22–23, with morning and evening options available. We’d love for you to join us! RSVP at www.theridge.church/events.

We all have areas where we could use a little more self-control. The good news? We don’t have to rely on ourselves to get it right. As believers, God has given us the Holy Spirit as our Helper. When He convicts us or points out where we’re getting too close to a line we know is wrong, that’s a gift. He’s forming us over time to become more like Jesus.

Before Labor Day existed, God talked about work. From the very beginning of Creation, He gave us a rhythm of work and rest. Our work isn’t separate from our faith—it’s one of the places we get to live it out. Whatever today holds for you, we hope you’re able to enjoy a little rest along the way. Happy Labor Day!

For the past nine weeks, Nine has taken us through love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and today, self-control. Week after week, we’ve seen what it looks like for the Holy Spirit to transform the way we live and love others. Our part isn’t to manufacture these qualities on our own, but to stay connected to God and allow Him to keep doing His work in us.

The way we respond matters. When we’re met with anger or harshness, our first instinct may be to give it right back. But as we keep in step with the Holy Spirit, He can shape the way we respond—even when gentleness doesn’t come naturally. Before we react, may we pause and allow the Spirit to lead.
