I want to share my lessons with organic gardening and treating for pests. My first trial was about 1978, give or take a year. I recall using the "Dawn" method and making lots of bubbles. Have to snicker about it now. This year everything went full circle for me. I used three things. Neem oil, insecticidal soap and thuricide. Neem oil will burn up your plants...be careful. Insecticidal soap is what I used as the main product...great on the aphids that really like the tomato plants. Thuricide is for worms and I mix it with the insecticidal soap. Didn't verify the use of thuricide for organic gardening...just took the word from my local plant shop (and I don't mean a big box store). BTW...I found out this year that certified organic means no "non organic" chemical use for three years. Please let me know if you want more info or have something to share as a related item.

Did I tell everyone that I finished helping with the tile work? Helped with the tile laying, grouting and cutting for a fair size kitchen and laundry room. At least, I made enough money to pay for the tile saw. Sorry, no pics for now on the new equipment...I'm sure that many of you know what a wet saw looks like.

No apples from the trees this year. Not sure about apples trees, but maybe next year we can get some fruit. Send me an email if you want to ask any questions. Next year, I will plan on some raised beds because of the drainage in our yard and see it as an improvement for some of the plantings.

We do have some peppers, lettuce, kale and radishes for mom. The herbs that made it so far are a couple of kinds of basil, rosemary, parsley, cilantro and oregano.

The blueberry plants did produce early. Lost some of the herbs. The tomato plants really have bounced back after the tornado and with all the recent rain.

We tried to have about 12 ft by 30 or 40 ft. But, please keep in mind that all this was before mother nature had her plans for spring in Moore, OK.

We have a good size area to try and put in an organic garden.

Did I mention that I had high hopes of gardening this year.

This is how it looked this morning. One plant may not make it.
