The Rink at State Street is a winter‐season, public, outdoor ice rink situated on the State House lawn in downtown Montpelier, Vermont. Call the Montpelier Recreation Department at 802-225-8699 for current skating status. The rink is intended for open skating. Hockey or broomball are not permitted.

Our Story
The Rink at State Street is a winter‐season, public, outdoor ice rink situated on the State House lawn in downtown Montpelier, Vermont. The rink is operated by the City of Montpelier in coordination with Montpelier Alive and community volunteers.
This winter, the rink will be open for public skating, except when the ice is unsafe for skating. The rink is skate at your own risk. We will maintain the ice on a regular basis and will put up signage when the ice is unsafe for skating, but we will not have specific monitored rink hours. Please comply with the posted signs, skate safely and in control, and be conscientious of others using the rink. Hockey or broomball is not permitted.
We hope you skate on the rink, enjoy it, and encourage others to use it too.
