DATS MOM just left the Alabama State Capitol to view Conner’s and other artists artwork on display for the 2026 Alabama Department of Mental Health Capitol Showcase. Conner earned “Best in Show.” We thank everyone who took time to vote for him. In her remarks, Commissioner Boswell stated how much Conner has progressed! Mrs. Boswell says she looks forward to Conner’s artwork every year and to see how much taller he’s grown lol If you’ve ever had a conversation with Conner, he’s a very deep thinker. His artwork reflects his mind and the message he conveys is always very deep and impactful. We are grateful for the department for creating a space for individuals with different abilities to express themselves and be seen, valued and heard! Everyone who participated today has a story to tell through their art and were all winners!

Opportunity. That’s all parents ask for. Thank you to the YMCA of Greater Montgomery for creating opportunities for our children to be exposed to sports on a level of their capacity, work on deficits and progress! Checkout some of the action and smiling faces from the opening game of Miracle League for ages 3-12. It’s FREE for all, including adults with different abilities. You do not have to be a YMCA member. DATS MOM families, if you haven’t registered, it’s not too late! Check the comments for the registration link.
